Dear Mrs. Vothanh,

Your address was forwarded to me by a friend who sells lottery tickets with me. He knows that it has been hard for me because I lost my right leg during the war and therefore, cannot walk fast.

I am writing to you today to ask for your help. I have had difficulties to earn a living by selling lottery tickets because I cannot walk around but only sit at one place. When it rains, I have to seek shelter and wait until it stops raining, which can be very late in the evening, to go and give back the unsold tickets to the contractor.

I sincerely hope you will lend me your support and thank you in advance for your generosity.
